California Enacts Paid Sick Leave Law

In less than a year from now, California employers will have to provide up to three days of paid sick leave for their employees, under a law recently signed by Governor Jerry Brown.

The law, which takes effect next July 15, requires that employers provide paid sick leave for all employees who work 30 or more days in a single calendar year. Employees will earn a minimum of one hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked.
