Idaho, US DOL Ink Agreement to Coordinate Enforcement on Employee Misclassifications

Idaho is the latest state to sign a formal agreement with the U.S. Department of Labor to share information and coordinate law enforcement efforts to prevent employers from misclassifying employees as independent contractors or with other non-employee statuses.

DOL has concluded similar agreements–or memoranda of understanding–with California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming agencies.

That’s about half the country. And shows how seriously DOL takes the matter.
