EEOC Charge Status Now Available Online

Want to track the EEOC’s progress on an employment discrimination charge you’ve filed or, if you’re an employer, one of your employees has filed?

You can do that now–for any charge filed on or after Sept. 2, 2015–thanks to an online access system launched by the commission in late March.

The new Online Charge Status System provides up-to-date status on individual charges as well as an overview of the steps that charges follow from intake to resolution. Additionally, the system provides contact information for EEOC staff assigned to the charge.

In the new system, charging parties can access information about their charge at their convenience, while allowing EEOC staff to focus on investigating charges.

There’s something in this for businesses, too. Companies or other entities that have charges of employment discrimination filed against them also can access the system and receive the same information on the status of the charge.
